Hi I'm Hannah. I love creating art that makes people happy. Colour is a big part of my paintings. I like bright, vibrant colours.
I am an abstract artist. So when I start painting I have an idea in mind. But then I see how the painting comes alive to make something unique. For my silhouette paintings, we put my abstract art in a vector graphic. That's something like a computer stencil. That's how I get cool images like the Lighthouse, Whale, Sailboat, Cat & Mouse, and Chickadees. Creating beautiful art makes me happy, and I'm glad my art makes other people happy too :) |
We believe in
Happiness. Spreading Happiness. Making people happy. We also believe in Inclusion, Dignity, and Purpose. |

Hannah's Story
Art in various forms has always been a big part of Hannah's life. She has been passionate about dance from an early age. She loves singing and song writing. And she loves creating art.
During high school, Hannah's Mom, Jill, homeschooled Hannah. This gave her extra time to spend making art. Hannah tried watercolour and acrylic painting, printmaking, felting, and stained glass. Then she experimented with abstract art and began creating beautiful abstract images using colourful combinations.
Several years ago Hannah started showing and selling her art at a local annual fundraiser for people with disabilities. She was encouraged by the positive response to her art. Especially the comments that her art made people happy. When Hannah finished high school in 2017, Hannah and Jill decided to work together to make Hannah Hicks Art. They turned Hannah's art into cards and prints, and then coasters and mugs. Stores started selling Hannah's art. Then a lot of stores started selling Hannah's art. Hannah Hicks Art is a partnership. Hannah creates beautiful abstract paintings. Jill places the paintings in vector graphics (like computer stencils) that make image silhouettes showcasing Hannah's artistic use of color and movement. Jill leads the business side, with help from Hannah in filling orders and doing online accounting. Now Hannah is both an artist and an entrepreneur. She is happy to show what people with intellectual disabilities can do given the opportunity. |

Family
Family is very important to Hannah and a big part of her life. She has 2 older sisters and 2 older brothers. She loves going on tea dates with her sisters. And she gives back sass when her brothers tease her. Below is a photo of Hannah at the Special Olympics National Games. Hannah is also a rhythmic gymnast.
